Submissions for the 2027 Wasatch Mountain Film Festival are open on FilmFreeway. We’re looking for outdoor and environmental documentaries with a real story underneath the adventure, from first-time filmmakers and working pros alike.
Every official selection screens in one of three festival blocks during festival weekend in the Granary District, and competes for the Wasatch jury awards.
The three blocks
Adrenaline Junkies. Skiing, climbing, biking, paddling and flying, with real filmmaking behind the big moments.
MISSe-en-scène. Outdoor and adventure documentaries directed by women.
Protecting Our Playground. Films about wild places, public lands and the people working to protect them.

First film?
Our mentorship program pairs first-time filmmakers with industry pros. Applications open [date]. The festival also runs a small-group filmmaking workshop during the weekend.
What selected filmmakers get
Official selection laurels, an invitation to opening night on the Industry SLC rooftop, a festival pass, and eligibility for tour stops, Brews & Views and the streaming archive.
